Home to Houston

Getting lost is no big deal, just stop somewhere look at the map, maybe turn around, and then on your merry way. Try it in a bus sometime, especially after driving one for only one hour. I missed the turn that would have taken me west to Illinois and the interstate. I really did not notice until the road got narrower then no shoulders. Soon  I realized there were no places to pull over, no stores, no towns, nothing to do except keep on driving. This was farm land Indiana. Luckily the road was small enough so traffic was not a problem, just keep on going, all roads lead somewhere after all. Sure enough an hour later and over a hill an intersection with a lone convenience store magicly appeared. An oasis, my saving grace, now I could finally stop. I pulled in  near the edge of the small parking lot, making sure I would not have to back up or do a sharp turn to get out. I hopped out and headed toward the store, trying to look as if I fully intended to be here  in the middle of nowhere.  The two local farmers at the gas pumps seemed to keep one eye on the pump and one on me and the bus. I doubt I fooled them, they were probably wondering why this crazy person would be out here in a bus. I grabbed a snack inside and went back to the bus for a serious map consultation. It must have been the patron saint of  people with crazy ideas or some other divine intervention, I was only a little lost, not the you can't get there from here lost. According to the map if I drove another ten miles or so a highway went to the right that would take me to I-57 and it appeared to be better than the one I misssed. So with a gigantic sweeping turn through the parking lot and some odd looks from the locals the bus was back on the road in the right direction.
