Day Two of the Deep Freeze
Global warming must have peeked out of the ozone hole and suddenly saw its shadow then popped back in. This month has been the longest string of cold below normal temps I have seen in 20 years of living in Houston. We have had a few somewhat warm days but the nights drop like Katie Courics ratings. This kind of weather cuts into my golfing, barbecuing and pool time. After the trip to Dallas I thought this cold would stay up there with those Yankee Texans. One thing about the Dallas trip, in starting this adventure I really did not think I would be doing any cold weather RVing this soon. My plan was to stay in the warm areas then maybe, and I mean maybe next winter venture someplace where it got cold just for work and a taste ( not the whole meal) of cold weather then back to the sun. Well so much for plans, but that is what this adventure is all about, take one day as it comes and make the best of it. Despite the cold we will still have our block party this evening, the RV park fires up the grills outside the rec center and everyone is welcome to bring what they want and grill it. The crowd eats in the rec center and we have wonderful time meeting all sorts of people who are here from the four corners of North America. Tonight I will grill t-bones, eat one, make fajitas from the second for tomorrow and give the dogs a treat with the bones.
